Configuring VNC on windows


Xtralogic Remote desktop client is compatible with all RFB protocol compliant VNC servers. Here we provide here instructions for TightVNC only, but fill free to use your favorite VNC server.

Install TightVNC.
Download a free copy of TightVNC. Run the installation package. Choose Typical setup type. Accept the default settings for TightVNC service configuration and Windows Firewall configuration (all enabled). Make sure that you set the Password for Remote Access and and Administrative password.

Configuring RDP Remote Desktop on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8



For configuring RDP Remote Desktop on Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8 follow the following steps.
  1. Make sure your windows operating system edition has RDP server functionality. ( to check it click the link Availability of RDP server functionality in windows)
  2. Open Control Panel
Windows 8 Users:- press win+x, which will open a menu, select control panel in that menu.
Windows 7 and Vista users:- click start button then click control panel
  1. Enable Remote Desktop
In control panel click system and security => system. In the left pane click the remote settings, the Xtralogic RDP supports Network level authentication (NLA), so you can choose the “Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network level authentication ( more secure)” option. Alternatively if you planto access this computer with legacy RDP clients without NLA support, you can select the other less secure  allow option. (Image shown below)
